Much Wenlock Pre Wedding Shoot with Dog | Jenny + Alex

shropshire couple photos at much wenlock

The wonderful Jenny and Alex are getting married at the quirky and dog friendly wedding venue Walcot Hall in Shropshire this August so in advance (and to ease any camera facing nerves that they assured me they had I say naaaay) we met up with their cute Springer Spaniel Oscar for a little walk and take some couple photos along the way! And lots of throwing of a ball for Oscar, obviously.

I absolutely LOVE doing couple shoots and this was certainly no exception, even if I did feel totally rusty since I’ve only done a handful since 2019 because, well, you KNOW. But I soon got into the swing of things (the hardest thing is remembering how to have conversations with people after only being with Damon and the cats for a whole year and a handful of weddings between!) Back to why I love couple shoots, (especially for couples who reckon they feel super awkward in front of the camera), well, apart from the fact they are such a good way for us to catch up before the wedding, I always say if you can stand me taking your photo for that long when we are just there for that purpose you will breeze through your wedding day! Hehe. But also it’s really lovely to go for a walk together and actually meet in person before the day. The photos are a bonus in my books.

We met up late one eve in Much Wenlock, to go for a little walk up Windmill Hill. In Jenny’s words ‘the only real hill in Shropshire’, I can’t guarantee the accuracy of that but it’s a very lovely hill, full of wild flowers, an old windmill and a bench to have a little sit and look over the beautiful countryside. Plus you get to walk through loads of lovely woods and next to fields full of sheep along the way!

Jenny and Alex were really keen to get some in a much loved spot for them both, in the place where Jenny grew up, where they walk little doggo Oscar and to where Alex proposed!

I had such a wonderful evening with them both (and best dog Oscar who was magical and found a ball in all that grass… extra magical because it was not his ball, we had no ball) and I am even more excited than I was to meet all their friends and family I’ve heard so much about (including expert Highland Bull breeder cousin, I even got to meet the highland bulls on our walk) at their wedding this summer!

Here’s a few photos from their engagement photos in Much Wenlock (their dog didn’t steal the show AT ALL HONEST).

I can’t wait to see them at Walcot Hall in August! They have some really fun plans for their wedding, I’ve been promised lot’s of dancing!!
